I will need front and rear bumpers for a 67 Coronet RT I am restoring. I have a set of good cores that have nice bumper guards. If I buy redone bumpers they most likely will not have the holes for the guards. If I redo mine I know the holes are correct and true. My question is how much in cost difference would there be to have mine done vs. buying redone ones? Thanks.

I had my 68 Road Runner bumpers rechromed by Tri City a few months ago. I'm real happy with the work and they look much better than the repro stuff I looked at before. At the time their fee was $750 for the pair and shipping ran $60 each way from Va to TN. My vote is to rechrome what you have, they take out any small dents or scratches and I could not tell from the front where they did any repairs.

Mopar mike, I do not think they are reproing your bumpers, so you might only have one option any ways?? My local chrome guy, Superchrome ( Springfield OR.) sent mine to Ogden Chrome ( utah?) Absolutely perfect.. I was amazed at how nice they came back.. $1100 including shipping..

Thanks guys. I was expecting to pay around $1000, hopeful less, but that's what I was expecting.

Yes, sorry, I did not mean repops, I meant ones that where already done by a shop.

Mike if you have good cores I would redo them and specify to the shop , and secertly mark them , that you want YOUR cores back . AVOID
NU CHROME .

AGREE.. def mark em.. we redid my superbird, and thought it easier to buy em from tricity, then sending them our perfect cores tobe redone.. the 1st set from tricity were wavvy on the bottom..semd em back, and 2nd set was wavvy on the top...send em back.. did not go for a 3rd bumper (2 strikes u are out). will say tricity paid for all the shipping, and the chrome looked ok, but lots of hammer marks trying to get em straight..

finally sent my orig to pauls in pa.. lot more $$$ then tricity, but u get what u pay more...most times...

if you have very straight cores have yours replated,

if you are in a rush and want to exchange

Avoid bumper boys or whatever name they have changed to, They are easy to recognize at the shows, they are a bunch of mexicans from So cal .

My friend just got back his front and back bumper for his gtx from pauls and he had good cores, they looked awesome, but for over $2,000 seems awful high to me.Are they anybody else that does just as good as job as paul but for a reasonalbe price?I dread sending off my big front round bumper, and back bumperettes and 1/4 glass to pauls,Im afraid I might have to go get loan at the bank just to pay him.

The core quality at the volume platers pretty much sucks. It wasn't always this way, but the reality being that as time marches on, the quality of the available cores will and is diminishing.

If you have nice cores, have them do yours. Put an identifying mark or number on the back in an inconspicuous spot so that you know you are actually getting your cores back.
