I think it's a reference to it being an auto instead of a stick. I'd prefer the auto, a stick would get old pretty quick.

I watched two trucks scatter the 6-speeds at the Mopar Nationals a dozen years ago, they simply can't handle all that weight... tsk

IIRC the clutch was also under size.
Wikipedia says "modified 48RE". Wonder what was decontented in those.
