It sometimes amazes me what they put those poor little 318s into! Grain trucks were geared pretty low and just lumbered along. Consider, also, that a lot of grain country is relatively flat. We had an old Ford truck with a 292, 4 speed and a 2 speed rear axle. I was pretty adept at getting a run at the 1 hill I had to climb on the way into town and downshifting without losing speed.
'63 Dodge 330 11.19 @ 121 mph Pump gas, n/a, through the mufflers on street tires with 3.54's. 3,600 lbs. 10.01 @ 133mph with a 250 shot of nitrous an a splash of race gas. 1.36 60 ft. 3,700 lbs.

Ever drive through Iowa? It ain't flat! I have problems driving my Cummins 3500 dually through there with a 44' fifth wheel! Cool to see it has electronic ignition and the two speed rear!

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

Shouldn't that have a poly 318 if stock? Doesn't look like poly.

Shouldn't that have a poly 318 if stock? Doesn't look like poly. Its a 1973. It should of had the LA since 1967. Also factory electronic ignition which it should have. I didn't even notice the year. I saw the grille and assumed pre-1972
