My 22" or so monitor began flaking out so i upgraded to an
Acer Nitro 31.5" FHD 1920 x 1080 1500R Curved PC Gaming Monitor | AMD FreeSync | 75Hz Refresh | 1ms VRB | VESA Mountable | Height, Tilt, Swivel Adjustable | 1 x HDMI 1.4 Port & VGA | XZ320QR. LINKY 1
I found the WHITE background a bit overwhelming so switched to Dark Mode. Can't honestly remember if everything went dark or not but i was happy with it until it started randomly going blank. I suspect it may have had a flakey connection at the power supply plug shruggy So I returned it and ordered the following,

PHILIPS 322E1C 32" Super-Curved Frameless Monitor, Full HD VA, 104% sRGB, Adaptive-Sync 75Hz, VESA, 4Yr Advance Replacement Warranty, Black/Silver LINKY 2

I can't seem to get as comfortable with the Phillips Monitor as I was with the Acer color wise. Currently my Outlook 2019 mail looks like a 1955 television screen being a bit gray with horizontal lines. but at least it's not blinding me. I'm thinking the acer may have had more adjustments or options on the color but not 100% on that.
All I want is a 32" monitor that will support the dark mode in all the programs, browsers etc. I'm not into gaming or any of that.

I don't know enough about all of the technology to know what I need or don't. Any help??? I included links to the AMZ pages that have more info on the specs for each monitor. I did note the Phillips manual was printed in 2017 so maybe that has something to do with it confused shruggy
TIA

I'm not good with colors but this sounds pretty outrageous. All I can offer is you're not using the VGA input are you? I used VGA until a few years ago without much trouble until one of the 25 pins gets bent or damaged, then the colors are really really bad. If you using VGA, try a different cable. I've never had a problem with HDMI or Display Port. If you have the option of HDMI or Display Port, switch immediately.

I'm using 2 50" 4K and one 43" 4K TV's for my computers. I can see no reason I would ever again use a dedicated Computer monitor, and there is savings today as cheap as TV's are.
I like never having to zoom.
I don't get the :curved" part advantages, care to explain?

Regardless of your view of monitors, he's got to figure out why two monitors in a row and maybe the old one were unsatisfactory. My guess is he needs a video card because the onboard video feed is dying. A longer shot is his HDMI cable may be bad, never seen a bad HDMI cable but suppose it could happen? shruggy

Understood, but simply plugging it into any suitable TV will narrow likely problem area.

Is your rig a desktop or a laptop? If it's a laptop are you using a docking station?

The original monitor was 15? years old and was losing segments on red colors in particular areas or the screen.

The 1st replacement (Acer) would go totally off and then back on rapidly usually 4 or 5 times. It was very random. Playing with the power supply plug seemed to settle it down for a few day or three.

So, that led to the current unit which is fine but the whites can be a bit bright o certain sites or when using certain programs while others are fine. I don't recall this issue with the Acer unit. This is way outside my wheelhouse so thought I might get some education here beer

Was unaware a TV could be used as a computer monitor, Not in my area of knowledge frown

The curved part fits better on my corner desk. also allows better access to open the window if desired. Might also make it easier to se the entire screen with less eye movement, guessing on that beer

Like I said in my original post, I'm not good with colors. jcc's idea of hooking up a TV is a good one to try to isolate the issue.

Forgot to mention this earlier, have you looked for specific drivers for your Phillips monitor?

Best of luck to you.

I found out totally by accident. When I moved into my apt, I bought a new 32" flat screen TV. I didn't realize until I set it up that it had a plug for a computer so it could be used as a monitor. My apt was pretty small so it was a space savings to have both in one unit.

I didn't need my cheaters to see the screen when in computer mode.......... blush

I did find the following frown Went to Philips website found a manual listed for this monitor and several others. Also had a driver file that was empty except for outdate instructions going back to windows 7 πŸ‘Ž. Wasted a bit more time looking through the manual πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž. Tried calling the support number several times and kept getting disconnected after varying amounts of time πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž
Even tried selecting another option for spanish speaking, same πŸ’©. Not to impressed at this point with what used to be a reputable company

Gonna try a bare bones one from wally world as this is getting old and HARD on my eyes. I've wondered if it might have something to do with the gaming aspect although the 1st replacement seemed OK shruggy Might try a TV as suggested as well. Will keep all posted and thanks for the help so far. beer

Im on windows 7 and it accepts any monitor I have plugged into it.

Silly questions but have you went through the menu on your monitor and looked at the settings?..... I use a larger monitor made for gaming and the older PC im on now cant function well on what made it a good buying point. Also had to adjust in the windows settings.

Got any kids or grand kids? This stuff is simple for them.

reset windows color settings to default or :

I’ve got some big Samsung monitor. Was a gift from my wife. I think it’s a 4k and ii had to order some special cable to even use it. I do remember that. It’s probably 5-6 years old and it’s definitely awesome. That’s all I got for ya.

I want my fair share
