What would be signs of core shift in the lifter valley area? I know thats a bit of a vague question but what are some of the more obvious signs?

Thanks!

Lifter bores significantly offset in casting is my 1st thought.
Sonic measuring of the bores is more important, though.

La 318-14 casting never seen one that high.

Really need to just get it apart the rest of the way and toss a good cam in it and do some measuring. But goofy lifter pattern it looks like to me.

Was it stock bore?
I had a 340 (1973 one but earlier casting) so used late. Was 20 over with lifters offset a little. It had many many miles and with Stock Cam was fine. Had never been apart untill i pulled it apart.
Saw 2 others that were also factory over bore but lifter galley was fine. MA MOPAR did not toss out stuff.
