What do you guys think of this short block combo? is my math right? Anything I'm missing?
6.4 block bored to 4.125 (.035 over)
Crank offset ground to 2.0 journals and 3.845 stroke $300
Chevy 6.2 H beam SCAT rods (I already have this set but for the sake of discussion) $662
1.135 chevy 400 std bore off the shelf flat tops cut my own valve notch racetec $663 probably could find a cheaper brand with a little digging
Balance $200
I can't find a stroker kit for much less than $3000, heck I can barely find drop in piston and rods for $2000 and it still needs the block bored and all the other little stuff either way.
It would be just under 11.5 compression and 411 CID all forged
I am not causing global warming, I am just trying to hold off a impending Ice Age!

On the piston cutting for valves could be a problem, head thickness , most race type pistons are thicker at the valve notch area on the underside ,,top ring location. Rod width on the big end ,other than those questions I like it .

I chose with my 4.7 stroker to go fundamentally the unfortunate man arrangement with the 258 wrench , bars and larger than usual cylinders. What I'm believing is simply utilizing the stock 99 cam with a 43 head gasket. From what I read I ought to be some place in the 9.1 compressionratio are. So a couple of essential questions in the event that anyone knows by some coincidence. Likewise no doubt the head and impede will be planed only for straightness purposes. Tutuapp 9Apps

I built a couple mild 4.7s and found the HO pistons to be a great and cheap upgrade. So are the HO cams up till 2007. They all just bolt right in like a glove. Port the heads a little, mill the block and heads for flatness and a tiny bit more compression... the 2008 up heads flow quite a bit more but have a big chamber and make low compression, maybe those pistons have a bigger dome.

I am not a fan of big cams so I could probably get a way with minimal valve relief.
