Hey guys,

What length oil pump/dist drive shaft is used with a Melling HV oil pump in a std deck Hemi ?

Would it be the same length as the one used to drive a Barton pump ?

Thanks !

A stock length shaft is 6-3/16" from the underside of the gear to the tip. So that's what a HV pump would use. I used to use a Barton pump but I forgot if it uses a longer shaft.

OEM stock length, make sure if you're using them in any aftermarket oil pump that they have free play, end play, no preload tsk wrench scope, on the drive or the oil pump rotor in the oil pump The easiest way to check that is before you install the camshaft with the oil pump bolted to the block like it will be used and slide the pump drive in and make sure it is seated on the block oil pump drive bushing wrench scopeup
