Just picked this up. Incredible how solid this car is. Checked paint thickness last night. 90% of the car is within 3mil, two spots 3-4x that. Given the data, appears to be 90% original paint. Was in Wichita, KS its whole life till this past week. Will do our best to preserve/clean it and see what we got. Excited to have this one in the museum.

That's in incredible shape! Can't wait to see the underside and the engine compartment after you get a chance to clean it up.

My uncle has spent about 20 years restoring a 1958 300D convertible, I am absolutely in love with the styling of the 57-59 Mopars!

A little over 600 in total production, less than 15 known to exist today.

I always thought that was odd too, to have a convertible WITH A/C but my longtime friend that lives in Florida pointed out that it's dumb NOT to have A/C in an area that has high humidity and daily popup rain showers. Driving a convertible with the top up in high heat and high humidity is no different than driving a hardtop anything with the windows up. He also said that convertibles with no A/C where usually purchased or ordered by first-time convertible buyers, they soon found out the mistake they made on a hot day with scattered rain showers.

Amazing. That's in similar condition to a '57 Bel Air I saw last night. The guy that owns it now (bought it about a year ago) knew the car from when he was high school in the 1960s and has been stored away since the owner at that time went to Viet Nam (yes, he came back, but bought a 240Z and drove that). They're still out there.

Nice score! My very first car [in 1969] was a 1959 Chrysler New Yorker. Mine was a crown coupe and it was loaded with options, as well. Wish I had it today... Oh - I gave $200 for the car from its original owner.

When I transported that 58 300D fuelie and had it in my shop for a couple of years I drooled on it several times, it may have needed everything but it was the coolest car I have ever been around for any length of time! I hated to take it to another storage building right before I sold my shop. I also had the binder with copies of ALL of the 300 letter car IBM cards and owner information from the 300 club director, what a neat thing to page through... up Definitely my favorite cars of all time are the 57-59 300's...
