What are these pistons worth. These came in a bunch of parts I bought. I’d love to use them but they are 12.5 compression. Thanks

off the self, they are around $900 to $1000 for a set of eight.

12:5 comp may limit the buying field some.

Could they be machined down to lower the compression?

That was my first thought but there's not much material in the dome to do that.

My car has the 12.5 pistons in it that have been machined down.

But...am told not enough material to take them any farther than the current range of about 11.3 or 11.5

To the op.

They were probably an $800 piston set new.

But finding someone who wants / needs that high of compression height
Will be like finding a needle in a haystack

12.5 is a good CR for a race Hemi - put them on Racing Junk or in the Race Parts & Hemi sections here.
Should move at $800/set, I would think.

Id toss on ebay starting at $500 and hope.

As odd as it is, look on ebay as there seems to be a surplus of hemi pistons. In many cases I can buy hemi pistons cheaper then any forged 318 or 360 pistons.

Its a bit hit and miss but many sets of even some of the most modern pop up for $500 and below if you watch them.

Here are a couple examples... wisco and BME... A smart shopper knows $500 and under is very easy to find.

Nice Ross hemi stroker slugs... $600 or BO.

With I could find some Ross 360 stroker pistons for $600 obo... Really odd but its how its always been with hemi pistons.

Same here.

Im thinking get a set of pistons on hand for the day I tear mine down. And finding something close to stock for under $1000 is tough.

Looked at some JE set at $950 for stock compression / pin and .030 overbore but they've been out of stock for a while now.
