i have a 92 lebaron that has been sitting for 3 years (covid, sick parents etc) the gas is starting to smell like varnish and i want to drain and refill it but with all the baffles/rollover valves i cant get a hose down the filler neck. no acess through the trunk either. how can i drain the tank?

I put a small diameter clear hose down the filler neck past the baffle on my 78. I used a electric fuel pump to pump it out.

Is your electric fuel pump in the gas tank? Our '91 Grand Caravan has a fuel tank drain the is accessible at the driver's side rear of the tank with a small cap on it. I'll see if I can find a photo of it?

Just looked up a '92 Lebaron fuel pump and it looks the same as the one I replaced on our '91 Dodge GC and it too has the tank drain connection. It will not drain all of the fuel, as it will leave a gallon or less in the tank but it makes it so removing the gas tank is not so difficult. As mentioned it's a hose with a cap on it on the left rear of the gas tank and I just put a vacuum drain tank like used for draining oil out of the dip stick tube. Here is the fuel pump showing the drain hose

I tried feeding a hose down the filler tube and thought it might be hanging up on a bend or entry into the tank? I was wrong and found the "rollover valve" ball when I removed it later along with the gas tank. Here's what I found and for sure no way around it to drain fuel or steal it laugh2

No other access and dropping the tank is a no go? Disconnect the fuel rail upfront, jump the relay and collect in a bucket. Run some fresh gas through it when done and replace the fuel filter.

Do you mean running the fuel pump and draining the tank via the fuel rail? If that is possible it would be easier to disconnect the fuel line at the fuel filter and drain at that point and not worry too much with the remaining old fuel between the filter and injectors at this point. I couldn't do that as I had a bad, non-working fuel pump and a half of a gas tank of fuel. Everything I've found so far says there is the drain tube with the cap at the back of the Lebaron gas tank. I used my Mity-vac vacuum tank, made a connection to that "port" and drain 95% of the fuel in the tank in a short time.

i crawled underneath the car (always fun) and there is a rubber cap on short line where all the other fuel lines come out of the tank, similar to the pic a12 posted but it is on the rear of the tank very close to the axle. i might try to drain it that way, but the car still is drivable but no ins. or plates, so i have been driving it on back roads to burn some of the gas out. it is a v6 so it looks like the fuel rail is buried under the manifold, i will work on it over the weekend.

It is a shame a small diameter clear plastic hose won`t slide down there. I drained the old gas out of my tank today and even with the small hose it emptied pretty quickly with the carter fuel pump I used, Easy peasy.

Yes that's it at the BACK left/driver's side of the gas tank. Just pop off that rubber cap and use a vacuum pump like above or an electric fuel pump. You may find a local auto parts cheap electric fuel pump or a Harbor Fright (pun) vacuum pump also like above?

i agree with this.
i bought a 2002 caravan that had sat for over 5 years just for the transmission/transaxle.
before i bought it, my one buddy and i [he knew the person who owned it] took a fresh battery, gas, air tank, and tools along to see if we could get it running, and if the transaxle/transmission was working ok.
hooking the battery up, it cranked over just a few times, and fired up ! it sounded good, and the fuel gauge read 1/2 tank, so off we went.
the thing ran great on the super old gas, shifted as it should, so i bought it.
the transaxle lives on in my "bus", and other than a trans-go shift kit and fluid and filter change, works great.
throw some new gas in it, add a can of seafoam if you want, and don't look back.

Did you get some or any gas drained via the rubber cap drain?
