There are a couple in my circle. They do pretty good, sorta like when we were young. The really impressive part to me is it almost equates to some of us older folks being into the old flat heads during the muscle car craze. The youth today are really going against the grain if there into older mopars.
I have found at least with my friends is they dont need or want a mother goose or another father just help when they ask.

The gf's son in law wants to learn cars. He's a Ford guy, but he's becoming a Mopar guy by default. He's a good kid.

Heck, pretty much everyone around here is younger than me But yeah, it's just being a decent person to help others, and the younger folks around here are fun to be around. I've donated time whenever asked, as well as parts; seems to me that at this point, that's my duty, and I enjoy it. The younger set isn't much more opinionated than I was at their age, but are pretty self-reliant and seem to want to learn mostly on their own.

Young kid in town with a Ford 3/4 ton pickup with a 300 six in it. Works on it all the time, Clifford intake with Holley carb. I just volunteer advice at times. Really nice truck and a good kid behind the wheel.

...So I bought him a BMW to test his mettle. The ultimate "so you wanna be a car guy" test! True, we already put some stuff on it, bigger intercooler, better charge piping, etc. A tune is next. 400hp from a blown straight 6 on pump gas without any issues. Compared to the 97hp (when new) my 51 Plymouth had, lol.

Not as of late. Going way back to when I was daily driving my wagon, one day I was putting gas in it, and a kid peddled up on his bicycle and asked if he could look at it. I said "sure" and offered to answer any questions...... My jaw promptly hit the ground when he started rattling off (correct) facts and figures about my wagon! I had a better conversation with him than I had had with most adults regarding my wagon! I asked him if he was into old Mopars, Chrysler products, and he simply shrugged his shoulders and said "Naw, just old cars in general". After about 10 minutes, he thanked me and peddled off. For the longest time I watched for the kid hoping to talk with him again but I never saw him again. When I think about this incident, I wonder what became of him. Was he a gearhead? Or just some kind of savant? If I had to guess, the kid was probably 10 when this happened, so he'd be in his early 30's now.

I've helped local guys with things like engine, transmission and distributor rebuilds. I've gone out of my way and offered parts, free labor, truck and trailer and even driven over an hour away multiple times to help with projects. Most are very appreciative but there's always that one that stabs you in the back and makes you wonder why you even bother!

My nephew bought a '67 Satellite shell, from HEMI Joel, here on Moparts. Joel let him work off the debt, working odd jobs around his house. I told my nephew I'll help him build the car, but I'm NOT working on it, until it's fully paid for. Took him a couple years, but he did it. I'm guessing it will be next year, before we start getting serios about it. My next in line nephew, who is 14, is already asking about getting his own Mopar.

Wish I had somebody to help. I remember when an old time racer that runs the lumberyard over heard I was it it these things. Turns out his garage still had the Sun machine and racks of parts from his days running an aluminum front end car. He taught me a few things and let me use that shop. Big thing was he convinced me I could do this stuff.
I want my fair share

There aren't any. If there were, I would...but there aren't so I won't.
I have two step sons, they figured out really fast that the Mopars they consider cool are not affordable. At all. They aren't wrong. They also figured out really fast the money it takes to get anywhere as an Enthusiast for any brand/much of anything, and they backed way off.
They also can't quite relate to anything that you get in, turn the key dead cold, and it does not start (starting procedure/carburetors). That can be fixed but as we all know it takes time to develop a feel and intuition for such things.
They did have a friend who was very into it, he had a G body Monte Carlo with a 350 he did all kinds of things to. I heard he was breaking in a new cam and lifters and stopped by. It was a $#it show. he made several errors, I had to bite my tongue because he did not ask for help/I would have helped. I did give him a couple 2 chamber flowmasters for it, that I'd pulled off the magnum, so that made him happy. Even having the most common car with the most common engine and everything being the cheapest it could possibly be, stepsons found out from him what things cost and it wasn't too appealing to them. But, their friendship pretty much ended over.....a girl (imagine that), so I don't hear from Jeremy anymore. I actually kind of miss that kid sometimes.
