Seems my Tq. Wants to idle high after I give it some gas, takes a while for idle to come down.. I just put the 340 back in the car w/more cam.. quad been on the shelf for 8 months, Ive got power brakes also. Any help appreciated. Electronic ign, comp 284, auto ld340 stock dist. Have the idle up pretty far in park put in gear wants to stall

A bigger cam will do all the things you discribed. Sounds like you have to open up the throttle plates enough where you are getting in to the transition slots. Low vacuum can be an issue also. Try running more advance. Total ( mechanical and vacuum ) should be around 25 - 28 degrees at idle.
