I am way to paranoid to go that route and expect home owner's to cover close to the value of my cars.

When I store my junk I cancel collision and liability but keep comprehensive which covers fire and theft.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

my '68 Dart GT (stored under a cover outside) Very good chance that this car would not be covered if something happened to it while stored outside. Most collector companies require a locked garage.

Here in FL when insurance is cancelled, they notify state and registration is cancelled. I'd minimize all the coverage to bare min, before cancelling Collector companies typically do not offer low liability limits, high deductibles, etc.

Time for annual renewal of classic car insurance. Currently covering my '65 Belvedere, a '69 Camaro (both garage kept) and my '68 Dart GT (stored under a cover outside). I haven't driven any of them in well over a year, and don't foresee driving them any of them for at least few months. All are basically "done" cars, (probably need new gas) under agreed value policies with JC Taylor. Thinking of not renewing the classic policies on these vehicles for now. I'm thinking homeowner's insurance will cover the garage stored cars if something happens to them, maybe even the Dart.
Could save a few hundred dollars. Good idea? Bad idea? Thoughts? Vehicles are almost always excluded from a homeowners policy. Policy needs to be specific about coverage of items in the garage area. With a classic, you would likely have a tough time if a claim came about regarding value.

I'm not aware that any of them allow this. I have agreed value with Auto Owners insurance. I have not had any trouble suspending my collision and liability while keeping comprehensive active. I have been doing it for over 20 years. I always do it for the winter months and once did it for a couple of years. However I have never needed to make a claim so can't say if there are any undiscovered gotchas.

Are you sure you have agreed value and not stated amount? I wasn't aware they offered agreed value coverage for classic cars. Doesn't mean they don't, of course.
Pretty much every insurance company will insure a classic car. Most just don't do it with agreed value.

Homeowner's does not cover the cars in the garage, or parked in the driveway.

When I store my junk I cancel collision and liability but keep comprehensive which covers fire and theft. If it’s a standard auto policy you can usually drop it down to just comprehensive which covers acts of god essentially. Collectors policies don’t give you that option.
Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

Comp covers fire, flood, theft, vandalism, impact with an animal, falling object, handful of other situations.
