seeing that the transmission pan uses nuts, with studs in the case, to secure it, a question i have always wondered about. has anyone had the studs back out of the case when removing the pan nuts ? are the studs loctited at installation ? if so, what color of loctite was used ? TIA to those smarter than me, that can answer this old man's stupid question.

I used the studs and nuts combo with flat washers under the nuts on a brand new STR Edelbrock crossram. I put the studs in using red Loctite cause I knew I was never gonna remove them. They never backed out a bit.
July 19th should be "Drive Like Rockford Day". R.I.P. Jimmie.

I like the stud idea here, would make the job of installing a new gasket that much easier (it being an upside-down job). I'm curious, what part# is that setup/kit? Re: colour, I used the ORANGE colour to setup my valve cover studs. It is strong enough to keep things planted, but not as robust as the RED stuff.
