Typo in the ad, it is an aircraft tug.

There was a dually version in VERY nice condition about 2 hours away from me late last year for $7500.00, if it would have had a manual transmission, I would have bought it.

The second and third picture are both "bobtails" used primarily for hauling ground support equipment, munitions, or moving light aircraft.

The first one is an Eagle MB4, designed for moving large aircraft, and universally hated by anyone who had to operate or maintain them. It's been 35 years, and I can still give you a laundry list of factory defects on these pieces of...junk.

The Jeep bobtail with the Nissan diesel had some issues, but NOTHING like that Eagle.

I can't figure out why the military uses these conversions when there are purpose built tugs that would likely work better.

btw it looks like Eagle is still in business

There's a Jeep CJ10 version on my local craigslist.

I'm selling my 1985 jeep cj10a airplane tug. It has a clean clear iowa title in my name and is taged as a pickup truck. It runs and drives excellent. starts flawlessly with the turn of the key. Yes, the top does come off. It is all original with 12,500 miles on it. yes. 12 thousand, it has the diesel inline 6cyl in it, yes. diesel. This tug was used at an airport up until the day i got it. So its not some project that has been setting in the weeds. If your looking at the add you probably know what this is. If you don't google can help you out. With very little work you know what this could be.

I can possibly deliver for a fee. I've got the right truck and trailer to tow it.

Any questions please call, I will not respond to is it available or text messages. You must call.

Two words: LOW BID.

Before the bobtails, Air Force had AGE (aerospace ground equipment) Tractors. Gas-engine Ford Industrial tractors with a weird rear-entry tandem cab. The first bobtails were Chevy and Ford with gas inline-6 engines.

I don't click on links in the for sale ads that don't appeal to me so I guess I've skipped right past them all this time.

Agreed, You tend to see a lot more of these bobtail things on military bases as opposed to general aviation airports.
