I looked it up in the search but only come up with the mopar part number for the red engine paint in a can, I am looking for the paint code for some single stage ppg red paint to repaint my engine in my 1969 318 barracuda convertible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What I have in my records is 5092D DuPont or PPG 2136. Now I haven't personally used either so take this with a bag of salt.

An alternative I can recommend is Bill Hirsch Auto Paints - I've used their Chrysler Red and it was spot-on.
Also easy to work with & dried quickly, and has held up well.

Thanks for the info, did you paint it with a brush or spray? If you sprayed it in a gun can you thin it with something? I used por-15 paint before and you could thin it with zylene, it worked pretty good and held up well but they don't sell the Chrysler red.

Spray gun, I bought either a pint or a quart, don't recall.
It was long enough ago I also don't recall if I used a reducer, may have come already reduced.
Best to contact them.
