A good friend has a pair of NOS 1969 Charger fenders that he’s thinking about selling. He’d be able to deliver to Carlisle or the Nats. Looking for suggestions on market value. He’s not a gouger but he’d like to price it above where a flipper would be tempted. In other words, he’d like to sell it to someone who needs them/wants them for their own purpose.

Does anyone have any recent examples of sales/purchases?

Thanks!

5k seems high to me I would think around 3k ea. if he wants to move them along, let the flipper hang on to them forever.

You can say the reproduction fenders are garbage, but most people are using them and are highly unlikely to spend the money on NOS fenders. The ones who are willing to spend the money on NOS fenders are not going to pay 5k a piece for them. $2500 to $3000 is the right number for them each depending upon condition and the amount of shelf wear on them.

Please let us know what they do sell for, it will be interesting. It's not often you see NOS 69 fenders for sale.

I would put them at $7k ea because there is always someone who does not care about money and will buy it, and a flipper won’t buy it because there is little chance of profit out of the deal. Might take awhile, but someone will hit the buy it button eventually.

I have been watching this post closely as I'm the one who posted the 68 NOS fender over at B-bodies only.
I look at it this way. There are three kinds of buyers that can create the wide price range. The flippers who are in at a bottom price. The guy who owns a Charger and he wants it, " just to have it in case".
The top price buyer would be the resto shop or the car owner who is currently doing a spare no expense restoration.
Finding that top price buyer can often take a lot of time.

I buy a fair amount of Charger NOS sheetmetal, and the guys who are saying 5 to 7 grand a piece are way off the charts. Yes you can ask that, but you will be holding on to it for decades! Great Lakes Mopar parts is a prime example of shooting for the moon on NOS parts, and bringing them to Carlisle year after year. And that was before AMD started reproducing sheetmetal. Now that reproduction Charger fenders are available, that greatly reduces your customer base for 68 and 69 Charger buyers. if they were 70 or 71 Charger fenders that are not being reproduced, you would have a far better chance of getting 2 to 3 grand or more a piece for them

I think they are worth 4k for the pair.If you hold out,you could probably get more.I agree with Pete with 70 charger fenders being worth more as there are no AMD or good used fenders out there.Just to give you an idea on value I sold an nos r/s 70 charger fender last year and got $2800.

Thanks again for all the input. I think he may end up selling them to another friend who is local to him. I bet they’ll go lower than market price but at least he now has a better idea of their potential value.

You are absolutely right. Probably a hand full of people that would pay for a quality nos part at top dollar. Expect it to sit for awhile. Buy still, if the part is of the highest quality like assembly line part, someone would eventually step up. I’ve posted stuff for years here and always get ‘it’s too high and it will never sell’. I always remember that when I look at the empty shelf of where the part used to be and wonder if I made the right decision when I sold it at that price?

yep!! I'm that guy ... the one that will buy it just to have for a spare (((BUT ))) that is only when a part or panel comes up with a price that justifies having a spare! NOT 7k each! more like the 4k for a pair. Getting Infront of the flipper is the hardest part and the problem in the first place!!!
