Hi Everyone,

I am trying to locate the door stripes on my 1971 Charger R/T.

Do they sit entirely within the depression? Or are they up on the curve/rise to the plane of the door at all?

It's weird, the curve of the stripes I have seems to be little tighter than the curve of the depressions. The instructions say to put the stripes 1/8-inch away from the edge of the depression, but if I set them at that location in the middle of the stripe, the tops and bottoms are farther than 1/8-inch away from the edge, if that makes any sense.

Any advice or close up pictures are appreciated!

Thank you.

Greg

So my two comments are 1) I still can't really tell if those are entirely in the flat of the depression, but 2) more importantly, your stripes look a lot more vertical than the ones I have do, mine have a LOT of curve to them.

Nice car BTW, and JMCFAN I think you are correct, I am only hoping/wishing to get the door stripes on by myself, I would probably hire a pro to put the whole decal package on!

There's a lot going on with the side stripes so it might be best to hire someone experienced.

I think you may have the passenger side stripes upside-down on the driver's side (by looking at the curvature of the stripe).... Yes, they should be about an 1/8 of an inch from the leading edge of the depression. My original unmolested doors had them between 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch from the edge.

If you look closely at the top (silhouette) of the stripe and bottom of the stripe, you'll notice the top has a little flat to it and the bottom is more of a radius.

Those are great pictures thank you. I got mine on, I am happy with 3 of them, the 4th one is off a little bit, but not sure it's bad enough to redo.
