Can someone walk me through reverse alignment
as I cannot get the back up switch to make
contact?

I tried up to 4 turns of rev linkage shortening
the link, no dice

all gears fwd & rev work fine,
rebuilt hemi 4spd
hurst rebuilt the linkage

Are you sure that you have the correct reverse shift lever on the transmission?

Link is labeled REV and can be seen attached
best pic I have.

Switch is new.

took the side cover off a spare trans to refresh my memory
I'm going to make sure I'm feeling the engage
detent, and hearing the hammer contact the switch

Jacked up the back of the car....high
removed the backup light switch...
whew, no gear oil poured out.

Tested the switch, best it conducts
is to about 3M Ohm.
Switch is brand new from my trans guy!

I'll stick a flashlight to verify the
reverse hammer is butted against the
case under where the switch would be,
then try to order a switch.

Ohm it with the switch out.It should be open.With it put in and the detent closed should be 0 ohms.If not probaly bad.Rocky
