I've used it in a couple vehicles and will buy it again. It's a huge help with noise. Only fitment problem was on an 80 Ramcharger and that may have been due to the changes in the floorpan in the early 80s. It seemed like the carpet would have fit my 85 better.
It's a rubber like material, and will possibly trap water under it. But so will jute.

I found rockauto.com to be the cheapest for ACC carpets. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,1970,challenger,7.2l+440cid+v8,1495993,interior,flooring,1264
Essex carpet + mass backing: $296 at rockauto vs. $360 at stockinteriors.com

Purpose of mass backing is ??
I just did the Fatmat / Dynomat type stuff on mine this past weekend.
Makes a noticeable difference for both noise and heat inside the car
The same. But it comes as a full size part of the molded carpet. And is much less expensive than matting. I was so impressed with the first, I won't buy it without now.
