I have never really been interested in stepping up to one, but I wonder if would better keep my Hemi alive and from starving 7-8 bearings....

My first question is, do the make a pump for BBM that does not use a belt drive but runs off the drivers side like a KB pump?

Is the scavenging better with a dry sump & tiny pan?

Who is using one for street & strip?

Yes, you can get a gear driven dry sump pump if that is what you want. I prefer belt drive myself but some people do go with gear drive. I've done a couple of engines with low profile billet pans. They seem to work okay.

IMO not convinced it is of any benefit especially in a Mopar. The issue is getting the oil back in the engine. I have done it on a few engines over the years and if there is a benefit its minor over a GOOD wet sump system. MOst guys cheap out on wet sump stuff with "low tech" pans that dont control the oil well and then follow it up with a glorified stock style pump.

I'm using this Missile dry sump pump that just bolts up where the std pump fitted. I bought it used, gave it a birthday with a full strip & redid the clearances, but it does work fairly good. It has 2x suck sections, one I have in the pan I made, & the other sucks from the valley as I have an Indymaxx block & it dont have much in the way of oil return holes. It

Missel, that is the one I am thinking of....Do they still make those, and does it sit past the front of the timing cover at all?

I think Indy sell them now. But as per pic, they do hang out front a bit.

Its become very common in the Blown Alch/Nitro ranks
RCD Oil Pump
System 1
Are two examples
I would speculate is is more for oil retention during a "Pan failure" than a performance gain.
