Looks like something built late '70s/early '80s for custom car shows - ISCA & etc.
The World's most expensive Daytona (Chandler/Spade/Wellborn) was also a Custom back then.

My bets it was someones race car and it is now perfumed up as a creme puff. Headers, dual plug valve covers, fuel cool can, battery in trunk, aftermarket deep oil pan. It was raced.

I agree with topside...looks like it was a World of Wheels or Autorama show car at some point. I would rather have the Black Ghost Hemi Challenger...since it has a Motown connection ( I grew up in the area). And that car has a great back story and history.

So, which came first? The custom paint or the race engine?

So all that custom stuff everywhere except inside? They want us to believe that’s the original interior?

I want my fair share

I'd probably change the wheels, but leave the rest go. Unfortunately some 'collector' will probably take it back to stock...because there isn't enough of them with no character.

That is one of two Hemi cars that were owned by an older gentleman that I know. I have seen them both in person. It's definitely a "day two" car but has sat covered in his garage since the 80's. Word got out that he was ready to sell and a couple of slick talking guys came up and bought both cars and enough Hemi parts to fill a 27 foot trailer. I spoke with him Tuesday of this week and he was extremely upset that the buyers had not kept any of the promises that they made to him and now won't return or answer his calls.

This is the other car that was sold with it.

Here is the only pic I could find of the last time I visited Ralph and his Hemis

The only promise that matters is that they paid him what they agreed on. Probably he should've asked for more $$ and not let his emotions lead him to believe a used car salesman.

Par for the course anymore. That's why I don't sell anything. I see it all too often..."This is my dream car! I've always wanted one!" Blah blah blah...for sale three months later, if that long.
