I just picked this car up from a buddy of mine. The car has officially been out of the dirt floor, wooden barn for 3 weeks now. Had been in a barn in Hopkinsville, Ky since 1979. The car shows a little over 1000 miles on the odometer and my buddy said the old guy that had this car said it was actual, but I doubt it. The old guy said he only drove the car to the store on Sunday until somebody hit him in the front end and messed up the hood and grill. He was so disgusted that he put the car in the barn and never touched it again. It has an HP 383 with automatic. The engine is stuck from sitting and im getting ready to pull it out and go through it. The mice have had their way with the headliner, but the interior is pretty clean. Original paint. Had a Sears installed under-dash AC unit put on. Certicard and a bunch of the original paperwork from where he purchased it was in the glovebox. The faded, thin white stripe down the side is on the fender tag. Neat ol car. Just thought I would share.

Keep us posted that is a sweet car. Please don't make a clone out of it. Higher level of trim than a RR I assume but lower than a GTX

Awesome find! AFAIK, the Sport Satellite basically got the same trim level as the GTX, without the engine options.

Great car!

Fabulous!

Get that thing road-ready with new lube, fluids gaskets & seals and then drive it for about 10,000 miles. It'll still be low-mileage!!!

Parts I seek: driver doorpanel, 65 Sport Fury, prefer black, needs to be 7-8 on 10 scale, might buy set 16" x 6" Dodge truck wheel(s), from early 70s?, takes 9" dogdish - need for a research job so cheaper is better. 69-73 C-body caliper brackets and/or splashields Send a PM.

Mojo, could you send your assembly plant & s.p.d. ? I am collecting spd's and plants of 68 cars, trying to find the about when change over on the slider ash tray to the flip out. I see you have a slider with red dash, same as my car.
Thanks
Any 68 B body owners who wish to do the same I would appreciate it a bunch.
Just PM me here, Thanks again

By the way NICE find mojo!

Please tell me your are going to keep the body and interior original?

I'd take something like that over a restored car any day.

Do you have any undrhood pics? I'm restoring a 68 and looking for underhood details. Markings, stamps paint marks inspections markings. If you have any good underhood pics i'd love to see them. Very cool car.

I'll second that! Stuck or not, that engine could offer some nice factory details that the first repaint performed will ruin forever. If you remove the engine please take TONS of pics of every greasey nook and cranny, THEN clean it, then do the same thing again to get details under the grease. Keep in mind that the smallest details are the least known, example: We all know what the valve covers looked like, but what was the original finish on the attaching hardware? What head markings are on all of the engine attaching bolts? Any paint or grease pencil markings on the engine parts? That's the kind of detail we need from survivors like that.

Awesome find! I hope you plan on leaving it basically stock, that's not a car I'd go nuts on with modifications, it's super cool just as it is, original wheels and all!

I also have a 68 Sport Satellite and was planning on cloneing it to a GTX since it does have all the trim already on it, but since have changed my mind cause I have bought a 69 RRunner and decided to leave it a Satellite. Bought the car in 1975 and its my first car! Good luck with yours.
