My first thoughts are not always the best so I will just say I do not let people sway how I spend my money so I hope the seller and buyer are both happy if it sells.

Whats the record REAL selling price for such a car?

Neat car. Owned a 383 GTS 4 speed. What a fun car to drive. I just cant seem to open the pocket book for that kind of money on some of these older muscle cars. I don't have that that kind of cash flow to have sitting around, vs buying a Hellcat and driving the wheels off it with the AC on and a kick ass stereo. But i appreciate the work and rarity of this car. Thought the last of these i saw were in the $80k range.

I know of a red with red interior M code Barracuda pulled into 6 figures last year

last fall a local friend of mine sold his M code Barracuda , red with black interior, sold for $75k ( dealer bought it )

Asking price is one thing, closing the deal is another!

Exactly. More and more lately I see cars at dealers stay listed for months and months and even over a year so price is almost irrelevant to actual market. This Dart looks really well done and desirable but I think it's got to be at least $40k over priced. It's actually too nice for my taste. Looks like a museum car.

Facts are stubborn things.

Looks decent overall.

Paint in the trunk is far nicer than the factory ever did.
Plastic trunk hinge sliders should be body color I think.
Master cylinder should be black? Really a drum brake car also? Figure you'd want discs.
No bottom side pics. For this price those would be a must see.
Battery ground to the engine should be oversprayed.
Classic car dealer so price is amped up over what it would be otherwise.

340 and a 4 speed would be my preference at the end of the day. More affordable and fun to drive.

A couple of the obvious ones

Should be engine color on negative cables.
Master cyl lid retainer should be natural. Not yellow zinc
Hood latch....spring and hook should be a darker zinc....they look painted silve

Not the most ever paid for an M-Code, the second owner of the black M-Code that is now owned by Jack Black was bought for $125K in 2008, that is why I said Jack got a great deal when he bought it at Mecum. I know of a couple others that have been around the same price... wave As far as this one is concerned, 68 Mag Style wheel covers, wrong sill moldings, should have headrests as Jan 1, 1969 they were mandatory and this one has a build date of 3/29/69, wrong pie tin, and of course the bogus description of Mr. Norm that keeps getting pushed... eyes

Discs were not available on M-Code Darts...

Where are the mandatory (after January 1, 1969) head restraints / headrests? SPD of this Dart is March 29 from what I see on the fender tag. (BTW that driver's seat needs a little work, pretty bad for a "low mile" car and resto IMO ).

I also think the jack instructions label is on the wrong side of the trunk lid. Everyone that I have ever seen is on the left side.

(sorry late to the party I know,)

BUYER BEWARE of LS23M9B348239!

This car has its matching numbers block and transmission which is very unusual for these cars.
fan

Re-stamping a block is a felony & the cars value takes a huge dive as a result.

Agreed, looks like a re-stamp. The font is wrong, and the three in the vin stamp should look like this '3' not what you see. Not an expert so please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the fender tag is a repop also, mostly because it looks like it was never bent in the upper left corner scope and the font alignment looks a little off?

Here's my '69 Hamtramck "B" 440 HP engine for my M-code Dart and note the rounded top "3'", the 4 has the horizontal across the vertical and only the characters from the model year 9 plant B and the sequential serial numbers.
