I have a question about where is the best place to sell used Mopar parts now? I have TONS of small parts left over from when I was in the parts business and have not been able to find a place to sell them. I have thousands of pieces of original hardware, trim, interior small parts, etc. but nothing that would be considered "home run" items, they were sold years ago.
I used to sell on ebay but that place is a joke now with their super high fees, absolutely NO seller protection and the search is totally broken. I would be lucky to sell 2 - 3 item a week there.
I have tried Facebook and even though I am listing on most of the major Mopar groups and get lots of "likes" I only am selling maybe 10% of what I am putting up. I am listing CHEAP there just to move the parts but it seems like things get buried so fast they become invisible.
Trying to list on the forums does not work much either as traffic is way down on these sites
Is it going to be like the old days where the ONLY way to sell was loading up and taking parts to a swap meet?
Any thoughts as I am just about ready to throw all these parts in the dumpster!
Thanks, Steve

I'd try to offload all of it in bulk to another parts place that needs it

Its not that easy anymore to move parts. As sad as it seems the hobby is slowing down, there are many reasons for this that have been discussed here before.

I have been to a closed up shop lately buying tools and shop equipment from the late owners son. He has a shipping container full of old parts from the 70's and early 80's .
I still have to go over and cherry pick the old tune-up cabinets form NAPA Echlin and Standard Plus. They have lots of NOS points and ignition parts like older coils and wires.
One box I seen has 6 NOS gas pump handles in it. This guys dad owned an Amaco gas station from 71-97 so he has a bunch of radiator hoses and Atlas wiper blade displays.
He wants me to make an offer on the entire container but it's so hard to put a price on all the crap and good stuff in it. I would have to sit on all this stuff until some person wants to give me penny on the dollar for the stuff.

I wish ya all luck... times have changed.

I was able to get six good older mopar white box performance cams before this below happened.... the rest the owner insisted went to scrap.

Honestly if its causing you this much grief and your out of the business put it all up in one lot and if it dont sell scrap it and move on and be happy.

Ive tossed so much this past year... people dont want to or cant afford shipping, demand is LOW. For me its foolish to put in the time to pack and ship for pennies.

I have pretty much given up on selling parts anymore, only at swap meets now. I am about to eliminate my 150,000 parts as I am moving to Tennessee and can't take them with me. I will be having one more "swap" meet in June, then the dumpster comes. I was thinking of an auction, but like you most of my good stuff is long gone. The people who were into these cars are getting pretty old so parts just do not move quickly anymore. I appreciate the bulk I bought of you a couple years ago, but still have probably half of it and will end up going to the scrap yard soon... frown

I stopped selling on here cause A, low traffic and B, all sudden most of my pictures are to big now.
I do fairly good on the "other " Mopar sites. I don't care much for Facebook but do sell quite a bit on their Marketplace.

eBay is a PITA but still the best place to sell stuff and get the best prices. Facebook marketplace is good too but has it's own problems. Craigslist is kind of a joke anymore, nobody there. I buy up collections like yours but being on the west coast doesn't make it practical. Also been my experience that once you to get the point of trying to get rid of stuff all the good, small, easy to sell stuff is long gone and it's the heavy stuff that doesn't have a ton of value.

Here is an idea of what I am talking about. There are tons of trim pieces for a b e and some c body. Most is decent driver quality with maybe a dent or two. Boxes full of gas pedals, brake pedals, door latches, linkage pieces, small hardware pieces, original attaching hardware by the hundreds, clips, etc.
I have already sold off all the really big stuff like sheetmetal and engines. Never again will I mess with these big parts! Way too much space and super hard to ship. What I have left is thousands of 20 - 50 dollar parts.
I have had really poor luck with ebay in the last few years and almost no luck with Facebook.
If I was to sell it as a lot I would get maybe 2 cents on the dollar or less and I hate to do that. It would be basically giving the parts away just to clear space. I am however super tired of dealing with this mess and part of me just wants it gone.

Economy's down so it's a buyer's market right now. I see lots of people selling their high dollar toys as of late, worried about impending doom. Suggest sitting on it until after 2024 and things start to bounce back. When they have articles being written about how people making $100k/yr are living "paycheck to paycheck"(they're doing something wrong if that's the case too) just imagine how those of us living from part bought to part sold feel.

I did a search and couldn't find one 'for sale' ad from you dating back the two years that Moparts lets me search. So..... shruggy

"If I was to sell it as a lot" If you were closer, I'd be there. I still buy this stuff, and in big lots as well. My sales have been good, and 'small' parts (OS2 and smaller) are the best to sell and ship. I've unloaded most of my heavy parts, too, just too expensive to ship now, and I don't go to nation meets anymore. The thing is, to sell the parts you have piece by piece might make it a full-time job for someone, by the time you figure in cleaning, pictures, descriptions, uploads, packing, and dropoffs to carriers, as you know.

The parts you have are too good to scrap, though, and I would think that just putting a listing on eBay (even as an auction) would get decent pricing for the lot, especially if you had a couple of semi-local guys going for it.

Yes I was a sponsor for many years and sold parts full time. I also had a small Mopar specific salvage business with a couple hundred cars. I was relying way too much on ebay and when things changed there about 10 years ago my sales died. I struggled along with sales dribbling in on ebay and finally had enough and crushed out the salvage, sold all buildable cars, sold hundreds of cores, sold multiple big parts lots and finally gave up trying to make a business out of this. I then went back full time restoring and painting cars, which I had done professionally since the early 80’s.
I now have a really nice professional restoration shop and have several hemi and six pack cars under construction as well as some other make cars. I have absolutely no interest in ever making the parts a business again, just wanted to sell some of these items as I am tired of seeing the just sit.
