I need a damper for my cast crank 440, and I've had this one for years. No directions in the box, a Pro performance 540 HD. So, is neutral with no weights, thin weight for 6 pak, and thick for cast? Anybody dealt with this. I bought this years ago thinking it was a DCC from Mopar, but now I think not.

Do these instructions and part numbers match what you have?

That's not exactly correct. The 1970 HP 440 is also a heavy rod, steel crank, externally balanced engine.

No part numbers on the weights. This is Pro Performance, but those instructions certainly suggest what I think. Thank you much for digging that up. I would also guess that a company may make many dampers and put different names on them, an that may be what happened here.

I've had this thing since 2018, just never really looked at it. The stock damper I have now is wobbling, so its going to find a home.

I JUST installed one of those. They were sold by a member on here a number of years ago and they didn't come with any instructions. I remember posting the same question so an old search might turn up the answer but those instructions someone posted appear to be what I was told.

Worth noting is that the timing marks are not "etched" they're printed with some cheapo ink. If you wipe the damper with thinners they'll disappear! Since the thing is also bare metal and prone to rusting, I clearcoated mine - which smeared the timing marks but they're still good enough.
