possibly clipping the 60ft timer ?
it usually boils down to a [semi ?] high performance car and a low performance driver.
i wonder if unhooking the front or rear sway bar would help keep these cars from the "left turn Clyde........" syndrome ?

Have an 06 GT stick shift. I've heard it called the mustang curse. Something to do with the wheelbase is the best guess I have heard. All I know is drive very carefully if you go through water or are in the rain. I've had the car take off 2X since I've owned it starting in 2015. Raced a lot and this was all on the street after going through a puddle. Hit second gear and off to the left I went. Best I could do was countersteer and get off the gas. Happened extremely fast.

They come by it naturally. Especially leaving car shows...

I never had this happen on my Mustang, 96. But it was just a v6 model, so low performance enough to match the skills of the driver? lol

On Mustang GTs and above you can turn off traction control

Yes, cause you have all the time in the world to do that when it happens.

I felt pretty bad for this guy. Must have been a horrific experience. Still got a little laugh out of the wipers going off just after the air bag deployed. You want to see clearly what kind of mess you're in!

You would think the people at track have launched the car hard many times before going to track and know the feel of the car, rwd, etc. and know how to recover from oversteer. The suspension doesn't appear stock, but I might be wrong. It seemed to hook up well. Front end didn't lift much but rear didn't squat either.

Edit: It did look like it was at shift point.

i have one on my car. paid $400 for it in 2008. only use it at the track. .
run 1.4 60ft times with mid to low 10's @ 140+ mph. launches straight every time when i launch at 4.5 K rpm on bias slicks. if i could shift better probably hit 9's

It sure looked like the car whipped the driver's ability, but its also a possibility something broke at the shift. After the crash, it could be pretty to look at the screwed up car to find what got broke during the crash, or what might have broke causing the crash.
For that driver, the unfortunate thing is that so many published Mustang videos that ended in a crash was mostly caused by the driver's inability to handle the car's output.

Apparently you race in slippery weather? I wasn't talking about this particular crash., or mudstains in particular but rather modern cars with "traction control" in normal daily driving, which a lot of mudstain wipeouts appear to happen as well.
