The urethane on the top half of my motor is 11 years old. I've got motor parts on other stuff in urethane that were painted over 25 years ago. They still look like new. I even shamed him into blasting and painting the K frame and steering box. You gotta look good. Doug

The tail lights and rear bumper are polished as well. Your opponents have to see you looking good. Doug

I’m trying to save weight as much as I can , I’ll skip the engine paint Whew , I’m so glad I don’t run NSS , I can’t hang with these details ! AS usual , looks great and I’m sure will run to match those looks ! I am seriously digging that painted motorplate, and the idea is running through my mind …hmmmmm ?

Not saying it will happen but.......I kept tearing d/s water pump gaskets on my powder coated motorplate. The p/s had a solid moroso mount for for / aft movement. I figured the engine was twisting, evidenced by the elongated mounting holes. I bought another and left it raw, no more issues

The plate WAS polished as purchased and Scott noticed that it had my prints all over it frequently!!! (how awful) It must be the color but i've probably handled it more since and you don't notice smudges anymore...go figure. I didnt like the idea of painting it but so far no goofs and the edge being polished ...kinda surprisingly looks good to me.

I gave up using gaskets on the motor plate long ago. Ultra Grey RTV never leaks. As far as duribilty. Urethane holds up as good if not better than powder coat. Heck my heads even have the Indy logo bonded. Doug
