The new color is growing on me, SOMEWHAT. Figure I'd post another pic for references. I'm nearing the end of final fit and finish work the last major work being finishing the "Frankin-pan" which was used several times as a chassis bump-stop.

Scott popped for using an Indy valley plate for a few good reasons IMO which required milling the MODMAN valley off for clearance. Service and inspection in the 'field' and better confidence in sealing the valley and isolating it from the runners and chinawalls. Additionally, he can swap on a different intake for comparison purposes quickly!

LOL Thanks Tony but Gdemon did a great job painting the engine and accessories for Scott. I've had it back for a while now minor expected detailing and final assembly which is a little milling reaming and scraping here and there. Adding that valley tray was a nice upgrade as i mentioned. It's going to look nice IMO. Hopefully, it'll be done REALLY SOON, and posting these pics should help move it along a kick.

The urethane on the top half of my motor is 11 years old. I've got motor parts on other stuff in urethane that were painted over 25 years ago. They still look like new. I even shamed him into blasting and painting the K frame and steering box. You gotta look good.

Trust me. The tail lights and rear bumper are polished as well. Your opponents have to see you looking good.

I’m trying to save weight as much as I can , I’ll skip the engine paint grin

Whew , I’m so glad I don’t run NSS , I can’t hang with these details !

AS usual , looks great and I’m sure will run to match those looks !

I am seriously digging that painted motorplate, and the idea is running through my mind …hmmmmm ?

Not saying it will happen but.......I kept tearing d/s water pump gaskets on my powder coated motorplate. The p/s had a solid moroso mount for for / aft movement. I figured the engine was twisting, evidenced by the elongated mounting holes. I bought another and left it raw, no more issues shruggy twocents

Thanks y'all !!! I thought this was a good idea putting the OFA on the backside of the plate. I was able to combine a fastener to sandwich the OFA to the air pump via the plate. The oil filter drops down in the car in a clean area too! But it took some creative hose routing to plumb. (Hose ends on order) the tee feeds an oversized 1/4NPT port at the rear chinawall. I also sourced a late model dipstick and reamed the block port over to .397 for the o-ring. The dipstick has a bracket that with a bend will use the front bolt on #3 exhaust bolt.

Thank you. I painted the gaskets with the right stuff right before i bolted everything down....we'll see!

The plate WAS polished as purchased and Scott noticed that it had my prints all over it frequently!!! (how awful) It must be the color but i've probably handled it more since and you don't notice smudges anymore...go figure. I didnt like the idea of painting it but so far no goofs and the edge being polished ...kinda surprisingly looks good to me.

Just make sure you shine up that rear view mirror so you can see Scott clearly.

I gave up using gaskets on the motor plate long ago. Ultra Grey RTV never leaks. As far as duribilty. Urethane holds up as good if not better than powder coat. Heck my heads even have the Indy logo bonded.
