I recently acquired a set of rusty 1950's Chrysler Firepower valve covers and I want to know what the factory original colour was. Also I wasn't able to find any parts numbers identifying the model year; where can I find this info.?

Not sure, but the three sets I recently found were all chrome.

Not sure if they are the same in details, but I have a box load of firepower covers from agricultural pumps and they are all Silver/dull chrome with the lettering in a flat red color.

Interesting, as there isn't any sign of chrome on these covers. I remember when I bought these at a swap meet that the seller had another set that were chrome however he told me that he had that set chromed as they were originally painted.
