My eldest cousin traded his beemer for a Tesla, now he's bent out of shape about the 130 mile range. No, I don't know which one he bought. The son of one of my Dad's friends has a Tesla, lives in Albuquerque and can't make it to Las Cruces on one charge. Other than range, I think both of them are very happy with them. I don't enjoy hanging out at gas stations or travel plazas, so they're a big no for me.

I'm getting a charge out of all these puns.

I hope Ford doesn't read the battery of comments from our crew.

The "root cause" is EV's catch fire. What are they going to do - re-invent the batteries?

I want to see all the E-V manufacturers who blindly jumped on this STUPID bandwagon, fall on their swords. I want to see them lose billions.

iagree
If these automakers lack the balls to stand up to stupid globalist policies, I too want to see them pay the price.
Let the market decide what it wants.

As far as the Mazda link posted. I myself will never own a EV never. I will be long dead before they are fully interrogated.

But for that Mazda....IF I worked 5-10 miles from home semi rural and if that added up to 10-20 miles per day that would be perfect. We all know our gas cars do poor on short trips and non warmup runs. So in similar cases I could see it. Even if only bought as a work car for the write off.

Once they are done being interrogated, will they be brought up on charges? grin

They are not interchangeable.

I heard a lot of rental agencies had planned on utilizing these, including Hertz.

So will Hertz have this mounted on the dashboard?

Youtube content creators along with radio and TV newscasters promoting EVs simply by reporting on them when they proclaim "The EV wave is coming and you can be ready" or "Weather you like it or not internal combustion engines are on their way out." BS. Just because the companies are making them doesn't mean the public will be buying them. In the 50s people viewed the homes of the future- the domed round homes with a robot servant and automated kitchen appliances. People would observe and say neato. But if presented the opportunity to buy it- would say I'Il pass I like what I have. A Q&A podcast I really like- The Nordstrom Motor Medics has a tech who is smart and likable. Russ Evans. But it drives me crazy to hear him promote to existing techs the training for the "incoming wave of EV vehicles.'

Don't forget your donation to the Ukraine, and the RINO party, they really need it.
