I like Reaper, but his story telling skills give me a headache.

Agree completely, he has the attention span of a squirrel!

On the topic of Monte, does anyone know where his GTX ended up? I hope somebody is getting it back together.

I’d be surprised if someone in that group didn’t know
What’s going on with it.

I talked with him a little on Drag Week 2012 and he was racing that car. They had nitrous problems all week and figured it out on the last day and could only run one kit if I remember right. That car is super super clean in person.

Street outlaws must be a pretty good gig. From what I've read he owns some vape shops? He's talking about having 160-170K in the unfinished car, shock and he has other cars too. I made good money before I retired and never considered spending half that much money on a car, LOL. Maybe the vape shops make a lot of money.

I can’t believe any racer or someone associated with racing would let that roll cage get in that condition. That’s a shame.

Agreed. It’s pretty clear a lot of folks don’t see the car as an icon like so many of us do
And don’t appreciate all the effort that went into it.

I made it through about 20 seconds of reapers video.

Pretty sure he owns a construction company. I think they do steel buildings.

Thanks. After watching the video I looked and only found the vape shops. I'll admit I didn't dig much though.

After Monte passed, the car just sat in a shed. It's humid in Alabama... My guess is that it looks worse in pictures, than in person. If I had the funds, that car would be in my garage...

Reaper owns a construction business, they erect large steel frames. People with large businesses often run a lot of "personal" expense through the business. Easy to put race car stuff as "equipment" expenses through a business like that.

That makes sense, thanks. It looks like streetking ended up with it, and then sold it to a friend in the KY area.

Or pay taxes. Somebody once told me since they are incorporated that people sometimes don’t send a 1099 to them because it’s not a requirement to do so. So that money is forgotten about. whistling

Had some good conversations with that dude. Like him or not like him, quite a few didn’t like his opinions, but one thing I liked about him the most was he kept it “100” all the time. Learned quite a bit from him. Even though I always used Steve, he’d still offer advice. Most of our conversations were about car suspension setup/tuning. Forever grateful for his insight and help. RIP Monte, the racing world still misses you man……
