So essentially they're made exactly like they were in this country 100 years ago. Exactly.

So essentially they're made exactly like they were in this country 100 years ago. With the exception of the OSHA mandated Gloves. Must have had some nasty cut hands beforehand.

How many guys are in full gear working in their own shops at home? Damn few I'd wager.

i wear steel toe "sneakers" [yes, that's what they are called] because i have peripheral nephropathy, and my feet feel like they are "asleep" most of the time. when i kick stuff, i don't want to mash my toes, or cause any damage to my feet. i also wear a face shield when using cutoff wheels and other items that can fling stuff into places on my mug that would not enhance my "good looks". Me too, New Balance, have had several pairs since they started making them. Here's my funny story: Walking into my local Advance Auto one day and there was only one vehicle in the lot and as I get inside I see the only customer walking out carrying a big floor jack. You could tell the floor jack was heavy so not to delay him I go to hold the door for him and in passing I ask if that's his older van? He stops and starts telling me about his van and how he worked at the local assembly plant where they were made. He puts the heavy floor (still in the box) on the floor on its side and continues to tell me about his van when (((WHAM))) it falls over right onto my toes! He looks down and sees I'm wearing "sneakers" and starts to apologize and asks how hurt I am? I then tell him I didn't feel a thing as they are "steel toe sneakers" for reasons just like this. He says "no way", so I reach down and knock on them and he laughs too. That's not the only time they came in handy but one of the more funny times. Mike
