What's everyones go to head gasket for the 270's?
Putting together a RB 505 and use to run solid copper.
When i set the 4.380 gasket on the block it's fine but when i line it up on the head the gasket sits inside the chamber on some area's.
I mocked up a set of SCE copper 4.520's and Cometic C5464's (4.500) and they fit nice around the chambers.
Am i overthinking this or just run the bigger gaskets?

My “go to” gasket bore diameter for stock 400/440 blocks is 4.410”.

However, I haven’t test fit one on a TF head myself....... although I have several customers with TF heads that have used them without issue.

Is the block a stock Mopar or aftermarket block? Iron or aluminum?

Tex have you ever checked to see if the gasket is hanging over in the chambers in certain area's?

I did a quick visual and seemed ok .Never noticed any sign of burn on gaskets when i swapped the heads between the 3 different motors .

I have been using the Fel Pro marine head gasket with my Victor E heads on a 400 block. Never an issue.

FWIW, that's a 4.500" bore gasket, regardless of what the specs say.
