Hi all
Putting 2012 Chrysler seats in a 65 B .
Other than trial and error, any ideas on how to determine the wiring for the seat. They look like 6 way with heaters . I didn’t think a fsm would address it .
Also does anyone know if these seats employed the active restraint system ?
Thanks Gary

I'm sure you should be able to figure out how to wire them from the correct year FSM scope
Battery, ground, forward, backwards, up, down and heat, piece of cake, correct whistling grin
AKA, if you know a tiny bit about electricity most circuits like that are direct current and need to have a path to ground to work, no magic what so ever wrench scope

Two hot wires, and two grounds, per seat, but both seats can use the same power and ground for the same use.

One set of power and ground for the seat movement, I'd make that battery power so you can move the seat with out the the ignition having to be "on". Generally, the power comes in on a center post, and the button directs which motor gets grounded to work, for each seat.

One set of power and and ground for the heat, I would pull that of the acc side of the switch, you don't want the seat heaters on if the car is not running. Should be simple power on or power off, but it might be separated between butt heat or back heat per seat.

The restraint system you probably don't want or need.

Was thinking about setting up a separate fuse block for this and any future additions . Was thinking about setting up a relay from the New block triggered by the ignition switch for the heaters .

I don’t want the restraint system . but will not using it negatively affect the seatbelt operation?

i'm not quite sure, but isn't the restraint system tied into the BCM on the new stuff ?
if so, wouldn't that affect the way the latch system activates in a sudden stop/crash situation ?

Also didn't that year come with the spring-loaded headrests that pop forward in a rear-end collision? I think those are triggered by a 12v signal as well.

You need to get a copy of the wiring diagram from a FSM.

BE CAREFUL. Lots of the newer seats have air bags in them. If you put power to the wrong wire it could take your head off.

Does the 2012 seats have their own seat belts attached?
I didn't think the crazy stuff started until after 2015.

Seat belts are built in , that’s why I’m using them in the convertible.

To all the other . Yes these are the things I need to work through .
Will see if I can find wiring diagram on line .don’t want to purchase an fsm just for the seats info .

so I don't remember the exact details.
there was an older conversion using sebring seats.
the seatbelt had some controller needed so they would release when you opened the door, triggered by the door switch.
in the early model of the car, it is a seperate computer that can be pulled and used easily. later it got integrated to the ecu.

not sure if this is the same for you.
what 2012 model car did you pull these from?

I put Sebring convertible seats in mine. They fold forward, and have 3 point belts built in

Here's a link to my install

Sebring seat install

Got the idea from this guy who put them in a corvair.- excellent resource as it has wiring diagram and detailed explanation of the electronic side of the job.
