I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with the Race Deck or similar flooring systems.
I did get a sample of the Race Deck stuff a while back. Seems like it would be ok for a show floor, not sure about a working floor. I did some searching but did not see much on whether it will tolerate a floor jack or jack stands being used on it.
The floor in my garage is not the best, and new concrete just isn't in the budget right now. It had epoxy on it at one point, but is pretty pitted and would need to be completely blasted before being top coated again so I'm thinking one of these floors might be a good fix.

Thanks

From my side and opinion from using it in partial areas of our race shop and always temporarily at outdoor race events on grass, dirt and concrete/asphalt pit areas it fine for as said "temporary" use. If you really use it as a work floor and not just a parking area then any fluids that spill or leak from the vehicle or working on things will seep through the joining points and stay under the flooring for a long time. It's not a pretty site when you finally lift it from the fluids to even the dirt and dust that ends up under it over time. We would remove or lift portions or large section every so often to clean under it. With the outdoor race use it was always rolled up and put back in the semis and then pressure washed after almost every event. Great looking and great as a nice looking temporary floor but IMO not as good as something like a good epoxy or similar coated and sealed floor. I've used it as a temporary work area outside on a section of gravel driveway area so I could use a floor jack and creeper but if you leave it too long the grass will grow up through it and make it a little of a pain to pull back up and apart laugh2 laugh2 But at least if you drop a nut or a bolt it's easier to find instead of searching through the gravel wink wink Just my twocents

Thanks. Thats kind of what I was thinking. Their website shows a bunch of nice garages with hoists and what not, but nothing where cars are on jacks or stands actually getting worked on.
Its not really a cheap alternative, but definitely would have been simpler in the short run.

I have it in my office and bath in the shed...its noisy. In a small area I would put some type of sound deadener under it. I don’t know I would use it in a working environment though. Its not water tight so if you spill something it will go thru. It also scratches easy wont stay pretty for long. twocents

Go to the 4:30 - 5:++ minute mark: "We pick it up, move it and pressure wash the floor under it every three months or so...." And that's just car wash dirt, not oil, coolant, or other shop liquids or grease. I've used this type of floor covering for literally a coupe of decades and it's not my first choice for a semi-permanent WORKSHOP floor covering. Just my twocents again.

I can't see the flow through stuff in a shop where you can't move it to clean under.
I did notice that in the main shop in the video, they only used it in the area that they wash the cars. The rest of the floor is just sealed concrete. I guess that kind of says it all, especially since they sell the stuff.
