It was restored by Magnum restorations in LaSalle IL. I know the car was in their shop getting finished when they were working on my car and I saw it many times.
The owner supposedly lived in the next town over from me but I never met him. After the car got finished Magnum took it to a few car shows to display it, then they were trying to sell it for the owner.
I got the impression it was one of these situations where a restoration got out of hand cost-wise and stress-wise, and the owner got burned out on the car and just wanted to cut his losses and never see it again after it got done.
I sort of ended up feeling the same way about my car after a 15 years in 3 different shops restoration, and costs way over expectations, but still have it and am not planning on selling it. So I can understand how the guy might have felt!
I don't know if the car was #s etc but it was a very good looking car. Magnums restorations have won numerous top places in national car shows.
You could call Magnum and talk to Mark Sukula about it, I think he would be willing to talk to prospective buyers about it. Also, they have a big display at MCACN every year, so if you are attending, you could talk to Mark there in a few weeks.
