Does anyone have any experience with using the identified piston w/4.25 stroke, 7.100 rod and the 240's. Just looking for experience with this piston and the subject heads and/or any other similar pistons to achieve 10.5 to 11 to 1 compression. Realize other options at 4.15 but wanting to stick 4.25.

Thanks in advance.

I have the Source 4.25 , 7.1 rod combo with 270s . At pretty much zero deck and a cometic 0.040 gasket I am right around 11:1 . Cant say for sure which actual piston , I looked at their range and chose for 11ish comp

Thanks for the reply, should have been more specific on question. Assume you were happy with quench distance and performance accordingly?

I used the gasket to get 0.040 approximate quench .
I run premium pump gas no problems at all . Performance - yes very happy with it . For a regular street car with sft cam .

I have run these pistons in an rb with trickflow 240’s and 6bbl. Engine runs very well…dynoed just under 600 hp and 630lb ft tq. That was with a holley street dominator single plane. With factory iron 6bbl intake and carbs: 574 hp and 608 lb ft tq.

That is with a .027” commetic gasket in at 10.95:1

With a comp hyd roller cam , .589 int / .571 ex lift , dur @.050” is 235 int/ 241 ex., i ended up with .211” intake and .236” exhaust piston to valve clearance. Cam installed at 108 int c/l. 112 lsa

All in all, combination works well together with the trickflows. Never ran the TF270s but i see they run hard.
