Working on a “restored “ car. 1971 Cuda convertible 340 auto. On about the 20th park brake application the end of the front cable pulled off. I initially attributed the problem to a cheap aftermarket cable. Tried to find a NOS front cable no luck. So I purchased a entire cable set from Inline tube. Upon installation I realize that the intermediate cable was not supported by the crossmember hook but by a small S hook in a different location. The problem I have now is there is not enough cable length to make the final conection. I see why the previous installer left out the intermediate cable support. Not enough cable to hook it up. Any ideas. Thanks for the help. Have measured cables etc. makes no sense to me...

I believe I discovered the problem. The rear cable mounting brackets were incorrectly located and welded to the frame to far back. Will need to remove the brackets and move them forward. Will take measurements from a couple other Cuda’s I have to determine the correct location.
