Rent a booth at a local shop? Maybe if you are good friends with the owner, I suppose, but no reputable shop is going to let some random dude off the street use their booth.
I've never used a portable spray booth, but if you are really looking to save money, you can make one in your garage. Plastic drop cloths, some box fans, wet the floor down before you shoot.

Years ago I painted a VW outside. I made a 2 x 4 frame and draped it with plastic. Worked out great as the lighting was excellent. One of my best paint jobs ever.
I have also successfully put plastic up in a garage and used a blower to suck air through pleated filters taped to the plastic. Worked ok but it was hard to keep the blower from sucking the plastic in.

I can't rent or borrow a booth even from places I worked at; they're just too busy and/or don't want to be there after-hours to watch over it. That too, and most of the time a booth is used off-hours, it's either the owner doing his own stuff, or side jobs, or letting his techs do side jobs.

There are e few places here in Phoenix that rent spray booths. Been that way for years. Here's an example. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/717719809287990/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A16f6d93f-6084-4e65-9e13-6c794a6af858 Sorry I thought it would be a clickable link.

Yea that’s actually what I was thinking. Who’s going to allow some nobody into there paint booth
Hence me looking for a solution. I would paint in my shop but I have a lot of stuff I don’t wanna paint. So moving it out would literally take hours
But it is an option

Hmmm. I like the idea of being outside under plastic, after painting is done seal it up and let the sun bake it in there (greenhouse affect) I imagine on a hot day it could get up to 150 or more in there. Just like factory. I made a temporary paint booth out of PVC tubing and the thickest mil plastic sheeting and an old furnace "squirl cage" blower to paint the hood on my wife's Town and Country and a few motorcycle parts. The inlet fresh air was filtered with furnace filters along with filtered exhaust air was filtered. Used it for a couple of days and then took it apart. Neighbors at first thought it was a "green house" for something else until they saw what I was doing and also figured out that if I was doing what they first thought I would not have put it in the driveway of the workshop garage. Didn't cost me that much to make and worked fine for what I needed to do. Mike

Try not to laugh too hard, it actually worked and I even had LED lighting and worked into the night. You can make it any size you like and if you have enough room in your garage or out building (barn/pole) you can leave it up for a while. Yep a fine piece of "hillbilly engineering", kind of sad and disappointed that I took it apart too soon Mike Hillbilly maybe, but I like it. Great job.

But if you want it strong then just glue them together like you would if it was plumbing and if you need to take it down a sawsall will do the trick quickly. Also made some of the sections the size of the furnace filters I was going to use for the inlet air and for the sized one area for the blower so I could seal it more easily.

I could have made it large enough to get the car or even a truck/van into it but I only needed to paint a hood and a few removable parts from my wife's T&C. Also I did a bunch of motorcycle parts, i.e., frames, gas tanks, side panels, fenders, headlight, swingarm, etc., so it worked out perfect for what I needed. You can make it just about any size you need or want. You can see how I did the "roof" and I bolted some of those cross members in case it rained and I was lucky I did that as it did rain "pour" heavily a few days after I finished. If you make this inside a large garage or building some of the extra strength bolting shouldn't be necessary. Like I said I only made it large enough for the projects I had and I wanted it to be temporary and as less expensive as possible. Talk about cheap I thought about making two swinging "doors" on one end with zip ties for hinges Sit down and figure out what size you need and head off to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy the connections in money saving bulk packs and don't forget the duct tape Mike
