gremlinsteve OP top fuel G Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 1,828 houston texas	The current combo is 383 727. 8.75 with a 355 gear and 26.8 inch tires I’d like to run a gearvendor unit to lower my 65-70 mph cruise rpm by 400 or 500 whatever it is I’m also running a 2500 stall converter now. The cam is a 230/236 comp grind that has issues wanting to push through the brakes Hence the upgrade to the 2400-2500 stall converter What’s everyone’s opinion. Will the combo work? I’d like to be 2500 rpm as close to 70 as possible if You Like Gremlinsteve. Gremlinsteve Likes You.

mgoblue9798 super stock M Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 1,061 Atlanta, GA	Unless you are running a lockup style 727, you need to consider what your cruise rpm will be v/s the converter rpm. If cruise is lower than the converter it might be a problem. You would need to discuss it with your converter manufacturer.

Cab_Burge I Win C Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 43,157 Bend,OR USA	Finding and buying a good torque converter can be very challenging, especially on the street: whiney: I've raced Mopar BB and 426 hemi motors a lot of years and went through several different good converter companies The best street and strip converter I was able to buy and use was a Turbo Action 8 ich SS/AA race converter that I was able to buy from a SS/AA racer in SO CA years ago, I bought a T/A nine inch from him also That 8 inch was really good on the street, especially at light part throttle driving I have had really good success using FTI trannies converters these last two years Last edited by Cab_Burge; 07/27/22 02:04 PM. And I have to pull the engine and tranny to change the converter. What a chore. Master, again and still
