[quote=McCandlessboy]Old cars way outnumber new cars, no clue why the opposite keeps getting said. You can just look at the show field and see what percentage they take up.
Going to strongly disagree. Its just not true. While the showing is very strong, to say the old way outnumber the new is just not true. So, the same area of the infield, center, has always been the "old" cars. The area next to it, above it, and before it, is flooded with the more modern 80s up cars and trucks. Not trying to start anything petty with you or anyone else, but have been attending this show since 94. Theres an equal amount of modern if not more than the classics.
I consider "new", the new challengers and chargers. Ed spoke about this topic on stage during the state of the hobby address on Friday. How the older car classes continue to grow. Only ed would know the real numbers, the rest of us just have opinions.

Since many museums, car clubs, and state DMV's consider an antique vehicle to be one that is 25 years or older, that would mean that 1997 and older are antique cars. Just because those of us who are well beyond antique don't think of them that way, doesn't mean that someone in their 20's or even 30's doesn't see them that way since they were new before they were born or when they were very young. I'm happy to see any age take any interest and pride in any Mopar vehicle at the show, especially these days. This year my wife entered her own car for the first time - her Factory ordered 2016 Dodge Dart GT w/6 speed. It's her every day car but she loves it and wanted to put it in the Dart class. She loved it - other than being the only Dart owner in the class over 30! Those "kids" were out there cleaning and polishing their cars with every bit of pride as the people with Cudas, Challengers, Superbirds, etc. To me that it is what it's all about. My son (21) entered his 1969 Chrysler Valiant boat (that he is rebuilding himself) in the Building R special display. We have a 70 Challenger but I was busy hauling my son's boat and helping my wife get her car ready so I was just support this year. Without the interest and participation of everyone and everything Mopar, I think that show would be a lot smaller and a lot less eclectic. The show this year, as every year, was great and a whole lot of fun.

It is THE best all-Mopar show in the country, and I should know as this was my 30th Carlisle and I have been going to pretty much all the other Mopar shows for that amount of time, and longer to the Mopar Nats. I will never miss a Carlisle, if you don't see my there then I am dead or in the hospital. I had a good show selling parts as normal, didn't do much walking around, only twice for most of the swap and didn't see the show field. That will hopefully change next year, I have decided to actually get a car going and quit selling parts! Always great to catch-up with all the Canadians and east coast Daht people...

Some cars..66 hemi charger w 440 25,000...67 blue dart 30,000...74 challenger project 16,0000...70 challenger rt 75,0000...71 demon...35,000 I wondered why a '66 Hemi Charger from Mr. Norm's was only $25k. I must have overlooked that it had a 440 in it. That was one I missed getting a photo of--bad light on Friday and I forgot to hunt for it again on Saturday. I've been thinking about what I call a gas-mileage toy lately--something I can run around to car shows in on weekends without burning half a tank of gas OR putting all that extra mileage on a daily-driver. The charcoal/silver '84 Rampage reminded me of my old '86 Charger, but seemed high at $9k. The black '84 Laser over by the building with the bikes wasn't perfect, but was still worth considering at $4500/obo.

I will start by saying the show was great and fun and I`m not trying to convey anything other than that. I agree only Ed would really know on the numbers but I don`t consider new stuff just the chargers and challengers. I count the Rams, Jeeps and the other newer stuff. To me the older stuff is 90`s and older but that`s just me.

I cannot type at times as fast as my brain wants, but, even though in my opinion this was a weaker year at carlisle, it was the absolute best year for me personally. This was the first time son (15) has not begged to leave after an hour. He really enjoyed himself and we started hunting for a ride for him in the future( Lord, why did he pick the 80's models!?) I am so happy he is getting into this. I can't wait to see what the future brings. I love all Mopars. Looking forward to next year.

Didn't win an any trophy as my truck class is very open with a wide year eligibility and some really nice trucks ! still enjoyed the event as usual .. saw some friends, bought a few trinkets etc. , got some tech advice on my broken 408 from Ken at Indy Cylinder Head,.. the hotel I stayed at offered room reservations for next years event which was good .. one less thing to worry about. For some reason I always do well racing my truck at South Mountains Friday evening Mopar race as I got runner up in the Modern Muscle class and lost second round in Trophy class.
