I'm trying to install new upper rear panels on a 70 Charger that didn't have them originally. It's supposed to attach with a screw at one end (towards the rear window) and two clips in the middle. There are no holes on the car that look anywhere close to where the clips are located on the new panel. It's frustrating. Has anyone out there installed one of these and remembers how and where it attaches? When dealing with this reproduction stuff I always start to second guess myself when things don't line up correctly.

my 69 pad attaches with a screw at the rear, which is hidden by the seat back, and the two clips shown, which go into holes that are approximately 1/4" [i didn't measure them].
i would think your 70 would be the same, but as your picture clearly shows, there are no corresponding holes in your inner framework for those clips.
does the pad fit, along with the rear panels ? [tried by removing the clips to just see if it fits]
if so, and you are happy with the repop pads, you will have to carefully measure where the clips are and drill the corresponding holes in the inner framework.
if i'm full of it [biggrin], at least this will be a bump for ya, and more knowledgeable folks will chime in.

That was my original thought, measure and drill the required holes. It would work if the inner framework were flat, but at the top there's about a 3 inch section that is recessed in, right where the clips would go in. It's recessed so far back that when I line the upper pad up to where it should be the clips aren't long enough to touch metal.
I must be missing something. I thought this would be easy.

Apparently I will be needing both. Does anyone have a set of these that they're willing to part with?

Thanks CrazyD

I was able to find another set and purchase them. Hopefully I'll be putting it all together later this week. Thanks for all your help!

thanks for reminding me about this bracket !
it's been ages since i have had mine apart, so that item was forgotten about.

glad someone was able to guide you to the brackets needed, so you can get your car back together.
