Just got a Griffin 26" aluminum rad last week for my 71 and also plan to paint it black. Top tank appears stock minus part numbers etc. American made and OE radiator shroud fits. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/GRI-5-70058

My opinion since I have just made a swap from big aftermarket aluminum to factory type stock,
I would just spend the money on a Glen ray replacement with the max cool option. Use the factory fan, shroud, and thermostatic clutch. Put a FlowKooler water pump and you won't be disappointed.
I had a fairly large aluminum radiator with a nice custom dual fan setup. It worked OK and never overheated but the fans draw way to much current and wreak havoc on the factory wiring and bulkhead connector.
My Challenger has a 572 Hemi with aluminum heads and 11:1 compression with a decent size solid roller cam and I swear the Glen ray radiator, stock fan & shroud, Hayden thermostatic clutch w/FlowKooler pump runs way cooler than the aluminum setup and electric fans.

I used a 26" small block aluminum radiator from us radiator, https://usradiator.com/ . It has stamped aluminum tanks so looks kinda stockish once painted black and the factory shroud bolted in place with no mods. It is a 2 row and keeps the 340 cool no problem in S Florida heat. It is the same one that OER sells.

Allan G. As you experienced running electric fans through the factory wiring is asking for problems. Got to run a relay hooked directly to the starter relay lug or battery. That and have an upgraded alternator of at least 100amp minimum.

That and have an upgraded alternator of at least 100amp minimum. All of what you mentioned was done but that's not going to fix the problem. No matter where the fans take the power from, the alternator still needs to make up the current draw and it all goes directly through the bulkhead and to the amp gage. A bigger alternator aggravates the problem by pumping more power through the bulkhead. The best way around it is to run a 8 gage or larger wire from the back of the alternator directly to the battery to bypass some of the charging current from the amp gage and bulkhead, AG.

Just send the original to Glen Ray and have them up grade it. Stock looks better than a cheap looking non fitting aftermarket radiator any day. That is if you still have a factory rad. and if you don't have the stock unit he is repopping some and i believe he has a stash of used as well. He's not cheap, but QUALITY never is. I will also add he would've saved me about 18K or so on chasing a BB heating issue that magically vaporized with his core even though the radiator had a NEW core in it VERY LONG Story. The original radiator in the car was from a 68' coronet and the car was a slant six. In other words, kind of a cobbled together cooling system. I'm having the radiator support increased to 26in from 22in and do not have a core I can or would use. Thank you to everyone posting some radiator choices.

I have a big Griffin in my cuda and it's great. Looks stock when painted black also. Only downside is the cost. The cheaper ones work good too, but don't have the stock look.

I had a custom aluminum made for my Challenger street/strip car and painted it black for my stockish look. Sort of.... Came with Shroud and two Derale electric fans 2000 CFM each. One I turn on with overhead switch panel. The second fan kicks on from the Racepak above 180 degrees. And, I added -20 AN upper and lower weld bungs for my -20 hoses. It runs cooler than my more stock street cars on the street with over double the power.

Yeah, 4000 cfm of air blowing thru any radiator would make it run "cooler than my more stock street cars on the street with over double the power."
