Has anyone here converted a e body rallye tach by using the internals from a modern tach such as a 52mm VDO cockpit series 8000 rpm tach?

Don't know about an E-body rallye tach conversion but has been done for the B-body rallye tach.

Haven't done it myself but Mopar Action April 2005 shows how using this kit. https://www.rt-eng.com

I did this one a few years ago. The tach is pretty close to RPM indicated by my MegaSquirt dashboard that should be accurate.
