Went to a Cars N Coffee yesterday morning at Tortilla Flats. Tortilla Flats is an old stage coach/pony express stop from back in the days. Put on by the Rat Rod Addiction car club. Lots of cool old iron. Also, we were on the edge of several monsoon storms so it was rather cool from the 110-112 temps we’ve had this week. Thought I’d share

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

It’s approximately 20 mile NE of Apache Junction. It’s basicly on a Lake in the Superstician foothills. It’s a nice place to have an impromptu car gathering when it’s not hot.

Falcon field sounds correct up
I took some additional flight training at a training facility west of Scottsdale airport in 1997 and 1998, CRS the correct airport name (?????? Field) right now but the west side boundry fence was on the highway to Prescott.
I got my instrument and commercial rating their and was going to get my CFI license until I found out how little liability insurance was available for CFI so I stop that and went back to building engines in my shop at home to help keep me busy in retirement wrench
I did land at a lot of the other airports around the Phoenix area during that training, 6 or 8 of them.
There are a lot of flight training facility in Phoenix due to the year round flying their, lots on international students also.
The flight school I attend had around 60 to 80 % foreign students depending on the week shruggy

We have a flight school at Falcon as well as a large warbird presence. I’m about two miles from the airport just off their standard approach. We also have Boeing and MD Helocopters. Apaches, Osprays and MH-6s fly in and out all the time. He also get the occasional Harrier.
