look very close at the area where the casting line is.
i have seen where there is an almost impossible to see crack starting there at the end.
of course just replacing the gasket may be all that's needed.

Or simply tightening the fitting in the bowl.

Originals were a coated metal - just unscrew the fitting and take the gasket, or go online.
Widely & commonly available.
Also double-check the tube fitting/carb fitting and the suface & area the carb fitting goes into.

i can agree with the "coated" definition of the sealing gasket. i believe copper may be too hard, but i have been wrong many times in my life ! more-so than right ! biggrin
anyway, the sealing gasket is a relatively common item to procure from lots of places.
as tightness was mentioned, i just assumed the fittings were tight, and were the first thing checked.

Might try threading the fitting into the bowl without the gasket to see if it mates evenly all the way around. One may also try a bit a liquid thread sealant but it really shouldn't be needed twocents

Whatever you do don't not keep tightening it without a new gasket, tighten it and then hold it while tightening the fuel line. If you back it off and retighten the seal is done. Quick fuel/holley makes a nylon one that works well in most cases also.26-102 holley.

In my carb restorations , I sometimes use a thicker fiber gasket in that spot. I get them from mike Bolduc. He goes by Bpt carb. I found him on eBay. He has a store there.

If a crack is suspected, one could use a very thin layer of paint or machinist's dye (dykem) over the suspected area. the fuel will "rinse" the color away exposing the source. A sharpie may work as well. To verify, mark a piece of metal with the sharpie, let it dry for 5 minutes or so, then see if a bit of fuel dissolves it wink beer

Well appears the leak is at the fuel line itself... will verify tonight when I can get a 2nd set of eyes.

Any recommendations on best place to purchase a new one that would ship sooner then later..... YO is horrible....

Never mind. Found one on Ebay from Inline Tube....

Sometimes, the flare on the tube is garfed, which either precludes tightening, or for bonus points, also garfs the fitting.
Check your fitting, and mock up the new line.
Sometimes the angle is off, and needs a tweak to properly seat.
On the AVS lines, the one I got from Classic (maybe also an Inline product, I don't recall for certain) also had incorrect bends over the valve-cover area.

I would remove the line and fitting for inspection if you haven't already done so. There may be debris in there preventing the seal, a damaged seat in the carb fitting, damaged/ poorly flared line. replacing the line without identifying the problem may be fruitless and possibly damage the new line
If all looks OK I would reinstall and try tightening and loosening the tube nut several times. Especially if it was a new line / fitting on the carb. MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP the carb fitting to prevent it from moving while doing so as previously mentioned. This is sometimes required to make the "SEAL/ SEAT" between the two and is usually successful unless one of the previously mentioned issues is present. twocents beer

it seems there is enough of a problem with flare fitting seals that there is a market for "seat burnishing" tools.
i think "kool tools" is one place that offers those.

It was the flare fitting. Odd that it didn't leak till now.... reseated it a few times... ended up removing the carb seal fitting and lining up and snugging it...then installed as one piece. no leaks.
