TCI RMVB #1217 instructions say to remove the lower sealing ring in 1-2 accumulater , along with discarding the spring . Question is what is the purpose of removing the sealing ring and should a blocker rod be used , no mention of putting in blocker rod .

Removing the lower ring effectively deactivates the accumulator function...same as a blocker rod. This done, the spring serves no purpose.

I usually put a blocker in it and leave the rings on. Even if it isn't needed. No springs, Force of habit. Maybe that's the wrong thing to do, but everything works fine.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
