So, 92 Van has cruise and variable speed wipers, 88 truck neither. 92 has 360 TBI + 518 and 88 has 318 TBI + 904. Is it possible to change out all wiring? computer too? I can see the steering wheel-column is different but I’m sure the could be changed to. To much trouble and forget it? Ideas guys

column may not fit from van to truck as it might be too short. 86-93 trucks have 50 way bulkhead, i think. just a matter of changing/adding/lengthening some wires. i am playing with changing some 81-85 over too 86-93 stuff. get a factory service manual or i can take a pic of the bulkheads from mine if needed. van may be totally different. pm me if you need something/pics. i will try to help you if i can.

Does either the 92 van, or the 92 truck have an air bag on the steering wheel? Everything in the column changed with the introduction of the air bags, I know my 93 Dakota had one, but that may have been the 1st year for the air bags.

If neither column has an air bag, the cruise & variable wiper switches are just the different stalk on the column and should be interchangeable between the two 92s. The wiring is probably already present, so that should be a plug and play as far as the column goes. You will need the variable wiper motor (most likely different between the van and the truck), the timer for the intermittent, and the plug in box for the variable wipers (those wires may be a lot shorter on a van then they are on a truck). You will also need the cruise control stuff that matches the switch and the chassis, Dodge used 2 systems and the two are not compatible, but I don't remember when the change over between the two cruise setups took place. A lot of the van stuff was the last of the vehicles changed over when stuff was updated, could be a year later (or more) on updates then other vehicles across the Mopar lineup.

Almost certain no bag, Cruise is in the horn part 92 wipers-speed adjustment and hi lo are in the turn stalk. 88 has a standard column like the older cars-trucks. I see no problem making the steering shaft longer to fit truck. The bracket that holds the throttle and cruise is a little different but can be changed. 92 has a mapp sender 88 dont. If I change over to the 360 I think the 8-1/4 rear should be ok too. Work in progress for now
