Hi, is anybody making and selling new intercoolers for the first gen Cummins? Or is there anybody selling used ones? Mine's got a bunch of leaks. Thanks, Joel

Thanks for the replies. Looks like the power stroke inter cooler is the way to go. I just ordered one off of summit brand new for about 250 bucks. Some modifications are needed. I'll let you all know how it goes.

This is what my original intercooler looks like right now. I just needed to hold for a couple of more days until the new one shows up and I get it installed.

Another friend said he saw new old stock hitting 800 bucks. And good luck finding them at that price. Used in the 400 to 500 range and they might be one day better than yours.

Duralite makes the best charge air coolers on the market IMHO. US-DODAC-70C Vehicle Make/Model/Year DODGE 2500 1994 – 2002 DODGE 3500 1994 – 2002 DODGE PICKUP TRUCK 1994 – 2002 DODGE RAM 2500 1994 – 2002 DODGE RAM 3500 1994 – 2002 https://duralite.net/Kevin

Well, I got the thing in there. I'm actually on a road trip, so I only had the most rudimentary set of tools to work with. So I didn't worry too much about detail or finish, I can fine tune that later. The stock intercooler sat behind the condenser, in front of the core support. To install the Ford intercooler, I moved the condenser rearward, against the core support. I trimmed and rearranged its mounts so that the inlet and outlet tubes for the intercooler would clear it. I trimmed the mounting tabs on the intercooler to fit in around all of the stuff and drilled holes in them to put bolts through into the core support, with the appropriate amount of spacer washers to position the intercooler so it's not hitting on anything. Then I had to trim the valance to fit back on, and I had to do a little trimming on the back side of the grill.

I also had to cut the mounting brackets off of the body that previously held up the intercooler, and the mounting bracket for the vertical center brace of the hood latch support. I had to trim the hood latch bracket on the bottom side, and enlarge the holes through the core support for the inlet and outlet tubes. But it all looks pretty decent in the end. The stock inlet and outlet tubes were 2 and 1/2 and the new ones are 3 and 1/4. I put a new 3 inch diameter tube from the turbo to the intercooler. Then on the outlet of the intercooler I used 2 adapters in line to neck it down to the 2 and 1/2 inch stock tube. Eventually I will enlarge that tube to 3 in all the way up to the manifold. But the main thing is, it works!

Well that's a good starting point. Once you get time you could make it look like it belongs there.
