While in the process of building a new engine for the Road Runner, it was deemed necessary to upgrade from my Jerico DR4. I bought that transmission new in 1999. The only thing I ever had to do to it was replace a first gear on the main shaft. I cracked a tooth, as a result of dead hooking the car. While it served me well, I know it had its limitations, so I sold the trans for what I paid for it, back in 1999, and ordered a Liberty Equalizer, Clutchless 4 Speed. Why a 4 speed, and not a 5 speed? My cars chassis is legal to run Super Stock, if I ever wish to go that route. I’d just have to change out the fiberglass body panels with steel, and it would pass. I don’t want to buy a different transmission in the future.

Looks great!
I understand everyone has a preference or an opinion, but are there any specific or distinct benefit to the Equalizer? dual cluster?
I have been considering converting my car to stick since we have a group of long time stick shift bracket racers Thanks

My brother has been running the same transmission in his 65 Comet for some time.Runs it behind a big Ford. It took a couple of seasons to work through the clutch trans combo. Car runs low 8 , hopefully high 7’s this summer. Have Fun !

This trans is a Equalizer Extreme. All Equalizers are dual countershafts. The Extreme has a wider gear vs. the std Equalizer. It is supposed to be the strongest transmission on the market. Liberty claims its good to 3500hp. As gas as efficiency, there is none better.

Doubt it. Had this name on the board for 20+ years now. If I did, I’d just use my real name.

That is a ways down the road. I hope to get many years out of the 563 combo. Financially, this is going to take a while to recover from.

Go for it! If he would give you a good deal on the trans, I wouldn't hesitate.

What clutch combo is he running? What does his car weigh? I'm guessing he runs a 5 speed?

It’s a Twin 10 from Cale Aronson, not sure all the details. car is 29 and change. it’s a 4 speed not 5

Nice! Would be curious how the maintenance is on his trans. I've been told 30 passes on sliders by one person, and 300 passes by another...

Thanks.

J Body has let me down. I've usually gotten plenty of S#it from him by now. Jay must be getting soft...
